Convince people someone who they all think is dead, is actually dead, by making a movie about the possibility of that person being alive, with the supposedly dead individual being in the movie themselves, before then finally dismissing that possibility in the movie. The most insane assertion here, is that popular music was and is being controlled by the government themselves in order to destroy christianity.
There exist a strong and fairly excellent christian music genre that an all powerful, christian-hating government could easily destroy. Yet it still stands. A mistake being made, in my opinion, is to think the book can only be a trigger if the target is obsessed with it. I believe you need to consider the book could be a trigger without being an obsession. For example, if CITR was shelved with a lot of other books Hinkley happened to own, its association with Hinkley and his attempted assassination of Reagan seems very tenuous.
They will do that when they have moved on to much better techniques and the political importance of the disclosure is minor. Or perhaps somehow favorable to them in different political circumstances. Maybe the book just resonates too strongly and relates too much to their own life for them to be able to separate fiction from reality.
